Position Overview: This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in education, particularly with a focus in early childhood, elementary, science, or art education. Interns will support summer enrichment camps, assist with gallery exploration for field trip groups, and lead public programming for visiting families. Interns will gain valuable teaching experience in an informal setting and learn about the daily operations and best practices of a children’s museum.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist museum staff with enrichment camps, including classroom setup and cleanup, material preparation, and student supervision.
  • Plan and implement weekly educational programs that are hands-on, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive.
  • Support administrative tasks such as managing class rosters and registration forms.
  • Help maintain exhibit areas and ensure a welcoming environment for museum visitors.

 


Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • College student or recent graduate with a concentration in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and families in educational or recreational settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in informal education and the role of play in child development.
