Position Overview: The Direct Therapy team member plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, one-on-one and group-based therapeutic services to clients with developmental delays. This position involves implementing individualized programs to enhance clients’ communication, social, adaptive, and academic skills under the guidance of a supervisor. Responsibilities include conducting behavioral therapy sessions in clinic or home settings, collecting and graphing data, maintaining client documentation, and supporting overall treatment goals. The role also includes team collaboration, effective communication with supervisors and families, and occasional supervisory tasks such as filling in for staff, assisting with assessments, and managing program updates. This is an ideal position for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, with a strong foundation in behavioral therapy and a commitment to supporting individuals with special needs..

Internship responsibilities:

  • Support 1:1 therapy session for clients with developmental delays in communication, social, play, and adaptive skills under the guidance of trained staff.
  • Assist in implementing individualized and group therapy programs designed by certified behavior analysts.
  • Observe and help administer behavior support strategies in clinic or home-based settings.
  • Learn how to collect behavior data and maintain accurate client documentation.
  • Shadow experienced therapists during assessments and client sessions.
  • Encourage clients to engage in appropriate communication and social interactions.
  • Participate in team meetings and trainings to enhance your knowledge of ABA therapy and client-centered care.
  • Assist with maintaining therapy materials and organizing client program notebooks.

Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Interest in working with children, adolescents, or adults with special needs.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality.
  • Ability to commit to a set weekly schedule (10–15 hours/week recommended).
  • Must pass a criminal background check (required prior to start).
