The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business operations at our brewery & restaurant to identify areas for improvement, optimize efficiency, and increase profitability. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills with a focus on the hospitality industry.

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources (e.g., POS systems, inventory
  • systems, customer feedback surveys, and social media).
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, costs, customer
  • satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to track performance and identify trends.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.

Operational Analysis:

  • Analyse operational processes (e.g., brewing, food preparation, customer service, inventory
  • management) to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement process improvement plans to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses of potential investments and operational changes.

Financial Analysis:

  • Analyse financial data (e.g., profit and loss statements, balance sheets) to identify areas for cost reduction and revenue growth.
  • Conduct pricing analysis and make recommendations for menu pricing and promotions.

Customer Analysis:

  • Analyse customer data to understand customer preferences, behavior, and satisfaction.
  • Develop customer segmentation strategies to target specific customer groups.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Technology & Systems:

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency and
  • customer experience (e.g., POS systems, inventory management software, customer
  • relationship management (CRM) systems).
  • Assist in the implementation and training of new systems.

Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Data Science, or a related field.
  • [Number] years of experience in a business analyst role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • (restaurants, bars, breweries).
    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and other hospitality-related software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently 1 and as part of a team
