The Children’s Fashion & Studio Operations Intern will work closely with me in all aspects of small-batch garment production, shipping and fulfillment, and creative business operations. Interns will get hands-on experience with tools, materials, and processes, while also learning how a handmade brand operates day-to-day.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in slow fashion, creative entrepreneurship, and sustainable studio operations. It is best suited to a college student in fashion design, fiber arts, or sculpture who is eager to apply their skills in a professional studio setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabric preparation: cutting, pressing, sewing, finishing and quality control under supervision
  • Packaging and shipping customer orders, including use of shipping software
  • Principles of costing and supply chain management
  • Helping with product photography and assisting in creating social media content
  • Preparing for markets, pop-ups, or community events
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college-level program in Fashion Design, Fiber Arts, Sculpture, or a related field
  • 18 years or older
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in sustainable design and handmade production
  • Basic sewing or textile skills preferred, but not required
  • Basic computer skills

Flora & Fauna Kids

Flora & Fauna Kids is a small, independent children’s clothing label based in Richmond, Virginia. We design and sew small-batch and one-of-a-kind garments using new and upcycled textiles. All garments are handmade on site, with a focus on natural fibers and ethical production.

iQuasar LLC, as the staffing agency for the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) internship program, will handle the scheduling of interviews and onboarding processes. As part of this process, interns will be placed on iQuasar LLC’s payroll.
