Why Organizations Should Get Involved

  • Wage Assistance: The Office of Community Wealth Building offers wage assistance to make hosting interns affordable, while employers may choose to supplement or assume wages directly.
  • Dedicated support – Each site is assigned a Career Advisor, supervisors receive training, and partners are provided with a toolkit to make the process smooth.
  • Meaningful impact – Employers help build Richmond’s future workforce while gaining motivated, trained youth who are eager to learn and contribute.

Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

Program Snapshot

  • Duration: 8 weeks, June–August 2026
    • Interns receive 2 weeks of pre-employment training
    • Host sites receive 6 weeks of intern support
  • Commitment: Up to 25 hours per week
  • Participants: Richmond youth ages 16–24 placed across the city
