Description: First Media Radio, LLC. 96.7 3WZ and Big Dawg 100.3, a dynamic community, small market radio station, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Radio Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in production, broadcast operations, public speaking, journalism, and marketing. Great opportunity for students interested in marketing, broadcast, journalism, or media.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Support:
- Assist in editing audio segments, promos, and commercials using digital audio software- Adobe Audition and Audacity
- Show Prep
- Board Operations for broadcasts
Broadcast Assistance:
- Support for air talent during broadcasts
- Write, record, and produce segments as needed
- Voice-over work
- Conduct interviews
Marketing and Promotions:
- Assist with creating cohesive station branding material using Canva.
- Create/ Contribute to the station’s social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) presence by creating and scheduling posts.
- Writing content/collecting footage for internal advertising to promote the station to the community
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a program for Marketing, Journalism, Broadcast, Leadership, Business, Communications, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling.

First Media Radio, LLC
First Media Radio, LLC operates two radio stations based at 392 East Midland Trail, Lexington, VA 24450:
96.7 3WZ (WZWW-FM): A contemporary adult hits station known for playing a mix of today’s top hits and popular tracks from recent decades, catering to a broad adult audience.
Big Dawg 100.3 (WBDY-FM): A country music station featuring current chart-toppers, classic hits, and local programming tailored to country music fans in the region.
Together, these stations provide diverse programming, strong local presence, and advertising opportunities across Rockbridge County and surrounding areas.
iQuasar LLC, as the staffing agency for the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) internship program, will handle the scheduling of interviews and onboarding processes. As part of this process, interns will be placed on iQuasar LLC’s payroll.
