Description: Adagio House is seeking a compassionate and dependable Summer Camp Assistant to join its Summer Day Camp team. The intern will support the implementation of engaging daily activities, ensure participant safety, assist with personal care, and contribute to the overall success of the camp experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Day Program Coordinator to manage and implement a project plan for the SDC.
- Work with the project team to create daily activities for participants.
- Oversee volunteers and participants daily from 11 am-1 pm.
- Be aware of the project budget and cost constraints in planning activities.
- Ensure that all supplies and equipment are ordered/purchased for planned activities and set up activities for participants daily.
- Supervise SDC participants at the Community Center and provide a safe, kind, and engaging environment for participants.
- Assist as needed with personal care for participants throughout the day.
- Assist with various other housekeeping tasks to keep the Community Center clean and disinfected.
- Communicate with the Day Program Coordinator weekly to provide feedback on the activities and any changes that may need to be made to the plan.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate and dependable with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Interest in working with individuals with disabilities.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Comfortable assisting with personal care and light housekeeping tasks.
