Position Overview: As our Summer Camp Instructional Tech Coach Intern, you’ll be leading instruction for kids 8-13yrs old in our all-day, week-long Game Design, 3D Printing, Robotics, or CNC Milling summer camp programs.

Juice Works 3D Instructional Tech Coaches are not teachers or tutors, but skilled leaders in technical skill-building, motivation, innovation, effective habits, and personal support. For that reason, we look for top-performing STEM super-charged “athletes” who have overcome obstacles and reached high goals through motivation, deliberate practice and a growth mindset. They know what it takes to push themselves, meet high goals, leverage their strengths, and have fun along the way.
As a Juice Works 3D Tech Coach you’ll be wearing three hats:
Instruct & Empower
Pre-Camp Responsibilities:
- Attend and complete 20 hours of advanced training (5 hrs. online, 15 hrs. on-site) in areas such as 3D Printing, CNC Milling, Robotics, or Game Design.
- Assist with setup and teardown of equipment and materials at camp sites
- Set up digital tools including Google Classroom, Google Drive, and Tinker CAD.
- Review media releases and identify any restrictions for camper photos or videos.
- Double-check all equipment, materials, and handouts are prepped and ready.
- Ensure the classroom is properly arranged and contains needed AV equipment.
- Stage and prep machines for daily use.
During Camp:
- Greet campers and parents daily; take attendance.
- Lead and facilitate technology-specific instructional sessions.
- Provide guidance and direction to assistant instructors.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Support campers with technical questions and troubleshoot equipment/software issues.
- Manage camper behavior and encourage professional and respectful conduct.
- Help campers save project files and upload them to Google Drive as needed.
- Take photos for camp albums and promotional use.
- Operate slicing/control software and manage machine output for 3D printing/CNC camps.
- Participate in end-of-day cleanup and equipment organization
Promote
- Share and promote Juice Works 3D programs via word of mouth, social media, or printed materials.
- Actively identify new opportunities to grow brand awareness within your personal and professional networks.
Innovate
- Offer feedback and suggestions to improve camp experiences, tools, and curriculum.
- Collaborate on ideas to boost engagement with campers, parents, and community partners.
- Contribute to design and development of camp materials, website content, or special projects based on your skills and interests.
General Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old with at least (2) years combined school and/or real-world experience. Applicable high school technical center training/certification applies.
- Must have hobbyist, coursework, or professional experience in digital design (CAD, graphic,2D, or 3D – Unity, Blender, Illustrator etc.) OR digital fabrication/manufacturing (3D printing, CNC, Laser cutting) OR coding, robotics & automation (any of Blockly, Java Script, Python, Arduino, PLC programming experience a plus).
- Experience with, and a passion for empowering kids and youth, and disrupting learning through hands-on, design- or tech-based learning (because traditional learning doesn’t cut it).
- You’re an articulate and proactive communicator (i.e. you anticipate issues before they occur and proactively communicate them with a solution mindset).
- You have integrity and take initiative (especially with opportunities to improve the camper and overall camp experience).
- You love to learn especially as relates to design and technology.
- Ability and willingness to work with kids 8-13yrs old (max. 12 kids per camp).
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 35 lbs. or team lift, push, or pull up to 75lbs.
- Experience with Google Suite (especially Docs, Sheets, Classroom, and Photos)..
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR/First Aid Certified (preferred).
- Availability: Available between 8:30am-3:30pm Mon-Fri to work summer camp instructional days (you get paid for 7hrs a day even though camp runs 6hrs a day).
- You will be required to clear an online background check as part of your application process.
