Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Writing Intern to join our engineering team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various technical writing projects and processes. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering, service, and sales/marketing professionals and contribute to the improvement of our customer user manual creation and storage process.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Drake Technical Manuals Assessment: Work with current resource to understand current manual development process and create assessment of needed improvements.
  • MFP Technical Manuals Assessment: Collect and assess manuals from across the other Middleby Food Processing companies. List examples of potential improvements Drake should make.
  • Develop a Plan for Outsource Manual Creation: Collaborate with current resource and Middleby India to design and begin implementation of a plan to transfer manual creation.
  • Assist with Existing Technical Manual Purge Project: Provide support to team tasked with purging existing printed manuals.

Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Technical Writing or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, writing and language skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
