Position Overview: We are a small, family-owned business and are seeking a Video Editing & Office Assistant Intern to gain hands-on experience in operating a small retail business, working with our headquarters (basecamp) team to create and edit training videos and assist with office operations. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to experience the outdoor retail industry while working behind the scenes of a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

  • Interact with Basecamp team – CEO, Marketing Manager, District Manager, Buyer and Bookkeeper.
  • Work with green screen, video camera, and other filming equipment to take video.
  • Understand and utilize DaVinci Resolve editing software and utilize it to completely edit and finalize training videos for Walkabout’s employee training academy.
  • Understand and utilize Loom software to produce video to track computer steps for training purposes.
  • Work with a green screen, video camera, and other filming equipment to film a variety of short training videos.
  • Update training video checklist and ensure training academy is complete.
  • Clean up and create website merchandise collections on Shopify as well as streamline current website navigation.
  • Occasionally support office operations, such as printing coupons, schedules, etc. based on the needs of the office and what marketing/promotions are happening.
  • Optional for increasing hours of the internship -weekly office beautification duties – vacuuming, mopping, dusting, etc.

Internship Requirement/Qualifications:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong interest in learning about small businesses, videography, film editing, marketing and business operations.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be creative.
  • Familiarity with: Microsoft Suite, Facebook/Instagram, and Google docs.
  • Strong communicating skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • This is a physically demanding job, and you must be able to lift 30lbs, stand or sit for long periods, stoop, reach, climb ladders, stairs, etc.
